What’s the best way to organize my tasks Should I use due dates or the Board view

The Board view in My Forge is the most flexible way to manage tasks without overwhelming yourself. It helps you visualize your work, stay focused, and limit distractions.

How to use the Board view like a hero:

✔ Not started → This column is where all tasks begin. Park tasks here until you’re ready to slay them.

✔ In progress → Move only ONE task here at a time. Limit your work-in-progress to focus like a hero.

✔ Watching → Use this for tasks you’ve delegated to someone else but still need to monitor.

✔ Done → Move tasks here when they’re complete and celebrate every win!

Vanquish → Park tasks that no longer serve your quest or are no longer a priority here. To see vanquished tasks later, scroll to the right of the columns in the Board view and click Vanquish.

📌 How to keep your workflow simple:

✔ Only move ONE task into In Progress at a time—this prevents overwhelm.

✔ If you need to pause a task, move it back to Not Started instead of letting it linger in In Progress.

✔ Delete nothing! Vanquish instead—this way, you can revisit tasks if priorities shift.

Task Prioritization:

What’s most important right now?

The Board view organizes your workflow and prioritization helps you focus on what truly matters.

✔ Slay First → Your most important tasks. Tackle these first each Slay Day. ✔ Slay Later → Tasks that matter but aren’t urgent. Do these after your Slay First tasks. ✔ Summon Allies → Tasks that can be delegated or handled by someone else. ✔ Vanquish → Tasks that no longer fit your quest—send them here instead of deleting.

📌 How to combine the Board view & prioritization:

✔ Keep most tasks in Not Started but prioritize your next action with a priority of Slay First. ✔Move any Slay First task to In Progress when you’re ready to work on it. ✔ When complete, move it to Done and claim your victory!

Do you need due dates for tasks?

Due dates are optional! If you prefer using Board view for task management, only assign due dates when:

✅ A task has a hard deadline. ✅ You’ve blocked out dedicated calendar time to work on it.

🚫 Skip due dates for flexible tasks to avoid unnecessary pressure—just move them through the Board view workflow instead.

🦄 Hot Tip: Instead of stressing about when to do a task, focus on what’s most important right now. Let your Slay First tasks guide your next moves.
